Chelsea and Tottenham are now ready to go battle it out to sign Juventus playmaker Paulo Dybala this summer, MySportDab reports.
According to France Football, both Premier League clubs are ready to pay £48m to sign Dybala this summer.
Dybala will enter into the final year of his contract at Juventus when the season ends.
Juventus’ Champions League exit has affected plans to keep some players at the club.
Dybala has fallen down the pecking order since Andrea Pirlo was appointed as Juventus manager.
The Argentine has been unavailable since January due to a ligament damage.
Since his injury, Pirlo has used Cristiano Ronaldo, Federico Chiesa, Kulusevski, and Alvaro Morata in attack for Juventus
Dybala has scored three goals and provided two assists in 16 matches so far this season.
He was close to signing for Tottenham in 2019 but the transfer collapsed.
Manchester United were said to be interested in signing Dybala at that time but it never happened.
Despite being the Serie A Most Valuable Player last season, Dybala is yet to sign a new contract at Juventus.
Asked if Dybala is in Juventus’ plans, sporting director Fabio Paratici did not say much.
‘Paulo still has some problems to sort out now,’ he said.
‘Some times he’s good and others bad. He seemed okay at first but then the pain came back again. We have already talked about the contract situation and we will continue to talk over the next few months.’
Juventus’ decision to sell Dybala could be because they announced a massive loss of almost £100m in the first parts of the 2020-21 season.
The Serie A club, now 10 points behind leaders Inter Milan, revealed that £43.5m was lost due to the impact of the CoronaVirus.
